No. 17 Tennessee kicks off its season this Saturday against South Carolina on the road. Kickoff between the Vols and Gamecocks is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.

Rocky Top Insider is tracking throughout the week which players are expected to be available, and which players will not play due to injury. We’ll continue to update that status of players from both teams leading up until kickoff.

Here’s a look at the injury report for this weekend’s matchup between the Vols and Gamecocks:

Tennessee’s injuries:

  • DB Shawn Shamburger, Sr. (OUT)
    • Shamburger will not play tonight due to injury according to the Vol Network.
  • DL Darel Middleton, Sr. (OUT)
    • Middleton tweeted out Saturday afternoon that he was not going to be playing this Saturday against South Carolina due to “health issues.”

  • DL Savion Williams, Sr. (OUT)
    • Williams will not play against the Gamecocks either, our partners at VR2 confirmed this afternoon.
  • TE Austin Pope, Sr. (OUT)
    • Pope had offseason back surgery over the summer. Though he was ahead of schedule and on track to be ready for the season opener, Pope had a setback and will “probably” not play this season according to Jeremy Pruitt.
  • RB Dee Beckwith, Fr. (OUT)
    • Beckwith suffered an ankle injury during practice this week and will not travel with the team this weekend to Columbia.
  • QB Brian Maurer, So. (Questionable)
    • Maurer has been dealing with a hamstring injury throughout camp.
  • RB Tee Hodge, Fr. (Questionable)
    • Hodge has been dealing with a calf injury throughout camp.
  • OL Riley Locklear, R-Sr. (Questionable)
    • Locklear has been banged up towards the end of camp. He’s been practicing this week, however.

Tennessee opt outs:

  • WR Deangelo Gibbs

South Carolina’s injuries:

  • ILB Ernest Jones, Sr. (Probable)
    • South Carolina’s leading tackler from a season ago missed the final couple weeks of walkthroughs in early August and missed several weeks this preseason after having his appendix removed. Jones returned to full contact practice a week ago and looks to be ready to start the season-opener against Tennessee. He’s the captain of the defense and a key piece to what South Carolina does on that side of the ball.
  • RB MarShawn Lloyd, Fr. (OUT)
    • Lloyd, who was set to start at running back for the Gamecocks as a true freshman, tore his ACL the first week of fall camp.
  • RB Zaquandre White, R-Jr. (Probable)
    • White, a junior college signee who signed with Florida State out of high school, has been hampered by a hamstring injury twice during camp.
  • WR Xavier Legette, So. (Probable)
    • Was slowed with a mild-ankle sprain throughout camp
  • LB Rosendo Louis, R-So. (OUT)
    • Louis will not play against Tennessee due to a quad injury.
  • LB/S Jahmar Brown, So. (Gametime decision)
    • Brown missed time late in camp due to a sprained knee. According to defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson, Brown was back on the field as of Friday and on “the cusp of being able to play.” Muschamp said Tuesday they’ll give him a look again this week before determining whether or not he’ll be available.
  • DT Alex Huntley, Fr. (OUT)
    • sprained his ankle on Sunday morning while doing some conditioning work on his own
  • TE Jaheim Bell, Fr. (OUT)
    • Bell is out until the beginning of October with a torn meniscus

South Carolina opt outs:

  • WR Randrecous Davis
  • WR OrTre Smith
  • OL Mark Fox
