Tennessee’s E.J. Anosike Will Enter Transfer Portal

The Tennessee basketball program has another spot to fill on its team, as E.J. Anosike has decided to enter the transfer portal, he told  247Sports recruiting analyst Travis Branham.

Anosike decided to transfer to Tennessee from Sacred Heart last year, hoping he would get playing time in the post for the Vols. Things never seem to materialize for the 6’7, 245 pound forward, after seeing early playing for Rick Barnes.

E.J. averaged almost 16 points per game and 12 rebounds during his last season with Sacred Heart, but unfortunately for Tennessee, those numbers never produced for the Vols. As the season wore on, his minutes decreased and there was talk from Barnes that he would return to Knoxville next season.

Anosike appeared in 22 games for Tennessee this past year, but could never get in a rhythm for the Vols in the paint. This will now open up another spot for Rick Barnes to fill, as they scour the transfer portal, looking for help in the paint.
