Breakout Transfer Wide Receiver Schedules Visit to Tennessee

AFC Championship Odds

Former Wyoming wide receiver Isaiah Neyor is one of the hottest names in the transfer portal after a breakout season in 2021. With over 850-yards of talent in the portal from one player alone, Neyor has been a hot commodity. And now, as the weeks continue to pass, Neyor is reportedly set to take a few visits this upcoming week.

According to On3 Sports’ Gerry Hamilton on Monday, “USC will host Neyor Tuesday and Wednesday. He will then return home to Texas and visit the Longhorns before making a visit to Tennessee during the weekend.”

Neyor has several Power 5 offers in the transfer portal after racking up just four total scholarship offers as a recruit. As a prospect in the 2019 class, Neyor was a two-star player out of Lamar High School in Arlington, TX.

As a freshman with Wyoming, Neyor had a slow start and only saw action in four games. The first-year receiver caught a total of eight passes for 248 yards and no touchdowns. However, by the end of the 2021 season, Neyor had established himself as one of the great breakout playmakers in the sport. By the end of his sophomore campaign, Neyor had hauled in 44 receptions for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns. Neyor scored a touchdown in all but four of Wyoming’s 13 total games this year including the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Neyor’s 878 receiving yards would have been the second-best number on Tennessee’s team this year behind Cedric Tillman’s 1,081. Speaking of Tillman, the breakout Tennessee star was also ranked as a two-star coming out of high school. As Tennessee fans have seen all year with Tillman, talent can absolutely outperform their initial recruiting rankings with hard work and the right system.

According to On3 Sports’ Hamilton, Tennessee, USC, Baylor, TCU, Texas, and Florida have been in the mix since Neyor hit the portal on Dec. 22, 2021.

Neyor stands tall at 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 210-pounds. As Hamilton stated in the initial report, Neyor has been one of the most highly-recruited players in the transfer portal this year.
