According to a report from ESPN’s Mike Triplett on Sunday night, New Orleans Saints and former Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara was arrested Sunday night in Las Vegas. Kamara was arrested on a battery charge according to the report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Triplett’s report says that Kamara was “accused of injuring someone at a nightclub” on Saturday night.

Kamara’s arrest comes the night of the NFL’s Pro Bowl game in which Kamara had made his fifth consecutive appearance.

“Police say the alleged battery took place on Saturday,” Triplett’s report for ESPN stated. “Officers were dispatched around 5:50 p.m. local time Saturday to a hospital, where the victim reported being battered at a nightclub on South Las Vegas Boulevard. The suspect was later identified as Kamara following an investigation by police.”

After Kamara was taken in by the Las Vegas police on Sunday night, without incident, the Saints running back was then booked on “a charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

According to Triplett, neither the Saints nor Kamara’s representatives were able to be reached regarding the incident as of Sunday night at 11:00 p.m. ET.

Kamara, a former standout running back at the University of Tennessee, was selected in the third round by the Saints in the 2017 NFL Draft. Since joining the league, Kamara has been a pro-bowl player every year, also acquiring Second-team All-Pro honors in 2017 and 2020.

In Sunday’s Pro Bowl game, Alvin Kamara hauled in four catches for 23 yards. The AFC defeated the NFC by a score of 41 to 35 in Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.

During the 2021 regular season, Kamara finished 898 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Additionally, Kamara also had 439 receiving yards and five touchdown catches for the Saints.
