Tennessee Lands In Four-Star Lineman’s Top Four

Can Desmond Ridder Win Steelers a Super Bowl?

Four-star Chattanooga offensive lineman Brycen Sanders included Tennessee in his top four schools, released on Sanders’ Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

Sanders other top contenders include SEC foes LSU and Ole Miss along with Brent Venables and Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound lineman projects on the interior of the offensive line and is one of the best prospects in the state of Tennessee. Sanders ranks as the nation’s 270th best player and the state of Tennessee’s sixth-best player in the class of 2023 according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The Baylor School standout has frequently made the trip up Interstate-75 since Josh Heupel took over as the Vols’ head coach. Sanders visited Tennessee for both the Pittsburgh and Ole Miss games last fall, came to a junior day in January and was taking in Tennessee’s Wednesday practice while conversing with Josh Heupel.

Sanders visited Ole Miss for a game last fall but hasn’t been back in Oxford since. Both LSU and Oklahoma have upped its efforts recruiting the four-star lineman since the new coaching staffs took over in Decembers.

Sanders unofficially visited LSU at the start of the month and visited Oklahoma last weekend.

According to Sanders’ tweet, he plans on making his college decision sometime in June well before the start of his senior season.

Tennessee currently holds five commitments in the 2023 class. The Vols’ class ranks 10th nationally thanks in large part due to the pledge of five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Georgia tight-end Ethan Davis is the only other blue-chip recruit currently committed to Josh Heupel and his staff.

After struggling to recruit in the state of Tennessee in the 2022 class, the Vols’ have already landed a pair of instate recruits in the 2023 cycle. Tennessee is pushing hard for a handful of top recruits in its own state including Riverdale’s Caleb Herring and Grienbrier’s Nathan Robinson.
