Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello, first baseman Luc Lipcius, and second baseman Jorel Ortega met with the media on Thursday to preview the Knoxville Super Regional this weekend. After the Vols’ press conferences were over, the team headed out onto the field at Lindsey Nelson Stadium to get in a Thursday afternoon practice.
While speaking on Thursday, Lipcius and Ortega both spoke about how their experiences from the Knoxville Regional will be beneficial to them this weekend. In addition, Vitello also spoke about how the team’s different trials, tribulations, and challenges from the entirety of the season will be helpful in preparing for the super regional round.
All three also spent some time talking about the home-field advantage that Tennessee has had throughout the postseason so far and how valuable Tennessee’s fans have been.
