The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have officially advanced to the College World Series in Omaha. Notre Dame beat Tennessee by a score of 7-3 on Sunday afternoon to clinch the team’s College World Series berth.

After the game on Sunday, Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello met with the media to discuss his thoughts. Vitello spoke about late-game coaching decisions and in-game moments, but the lasting takeaway from Vitello’s press conference was his emotions toward the team. In addition, first baseman Luc Lipcius and relief pitcher Redmond Walsh also spoke with the media after the game to discuss much of the same, including their final moments in Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

  • Luc Lipcius: 1 run, 1 hit, 1 RBI
  • Redmond Walsh: 1.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 walks
