Tennessee Opens As Underdogs In Orange Bowl

Tennessee opened as 4.5-point underdogs in its Orange Bowl matchup against Clemson, according to FanDuel.

Tennessee went 9-3 against the spread in the regular season and 5-3 against the spread in SEC games. The over hit in seven Tennessee games this season while the under hit five times.

Clemson went 7-6 against the spread in the regular season and went 6-4 against the spread in ACC games. The over hit in seven Clemson games this season while the under hit six times.

Tennessee enters the Orange Bowl as the nation’s No. 6 team after posting a 10-2 record that included wins over LSU and Alabama and losses against Georgia as well as South Carolina.

The Vols will be without starting quarterback Hendon Hooker who is out with a knee injury. Back up Joe Milton III will make the fourth start of his Tennessee career.

No. 7 Clemson is the ACC Champion but finds itself out of the playoffs thanks to non conference losses against Notre Dame and South Carolina. The Tigers could also play a different quarterback against Tennessee. Freshman Cade Klubnik made the first start of his career in the ACC Championship game and torched North Carolina.

Kick off from Hard Rock Stadium is at 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 30. ESPN is broadcasting the game.
