Due to inclement weather likely coming Knoxville’s way on Sunday, Tennessee has announced the Vols will play Morehead State in a Saturday double-header to finish the series.
Game two of the series will begin at 2 p.m. ET, and first pitch for the series finale is set for 6 p.m. ET on Saturday in Knoxville.

The Vols won game one of the series in a dominant 23-4 win, improving to 12-3 on the season. Tennessee recorded 18 hits, and third baseman Zane Denton hit for the cycle.

After a frustrating 7-6 midweek loss to Boston College, the Vols responded well by getting their fifth double-digit win of the season.
“I think the right way,” Vitello said on how the Vols responded after the Tuesday loss. “It might’ve been fortunate there was a gap in games, last game and this game, because anytime something goes poorly or you don’t like how things went, or it’s a downer of any kind, it needs to be a downer. You need to marinate in it a little bit… It’s nice to win all of your games so you don’t have to respond with a win after that or kind of get a Listerine win tonight, kind of wash the bad taste out of your mouth, but they’ve shown they respond pretty well to date. I hope that trend continues.”
Maui Ahuna also stepped up for Tennessee in the win, as the leadoff man went 2-2 at the plate with two home runs, drew three walks and was hit by a pitch.
Ahuna got on base on all six of his plate appearances and tied a career-high with five RBI and five runs scored. Additionally, Ahuna recorded his first multi-home run performance of his career.
Ahuna and Denton were two of six Vols to leave the yard, and Tennessee tied a program record by hitting seven home runs on the night.
The Vols will look to win the series against the Eagles on Saturday when the two square off at 2 p.m. ET for game one of the double-header.
