Tennessee Baseball will wear the Dark Mode uniforms in Friday night’s series opener against Morehead State.

The Vol Baseball Twitter account posted a picture on Friday afternoon revealing the Vols would be sporting the alternate threads for the first time this season.

Tennessee debuted the uniforms in 2022 in game two of a three-game series against Kentucky and went on to wear it four more times. The Vols’ only loss in the uniforms came to Kentucky. Tennessee surprisingly wore the alternates in the SEC Tournament Championship game in which the Vols defeated Florida 8-5.

The last game Tennessee wore the uniforms in 2022 came in the Vols’ thrilling 9-6 NCAA Regional win over Georgia Tech.

Tennessee’s upcoming series against Morehead State serves as a bounce-back opportunity for the third-ranked Vols, as the Big Orange are coming off a midweek loss to Boston College. The Vols fell to the Eagles, 7-6, in 10 innings, suffering their third loss of the season. The loss ended an 11-game winning streak for the Volunteers after back-to-back losses to open the season in Arizona.

Junior RHP Chase Dollander (2-1, 2.20 ERA) will start on the mound in game one against the Eagles. Dollander will face off against senior RHP Luke Helton (2-1, 5.28 ERA).

First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. ET in Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Game two will begin at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday and the series finale will start at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
