Best NBA Player Props for Thursday, May 11

Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers, 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) — Philadelphia leads series 3-2

The Sixers stunned the basketball world Tuesday night, beating the Celtics by double digits (115-103) on their hallowed home court. Compiled with Boston’s buzzer-beater loss to Philly on Sunday, things are not looking good for the guys in green.

Tonight’s game has the Celtics facing elimination back in Philadelphia. When they’re playing well, they look like one of the best teams in decades, but they can also look uninspired and uncoordinated like in Tuesday’s game.  The Celtics are two-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook for Game 6 in Philly.

How about the players?

Joel Embiid led the Sixers on Tuesday with 33 points and seven rebounds. Tyrese Maxey scored 30 and the whole Philly team shot 50.6% from the field.

On Boston’s side, Jayson Tatum led the scoring with 36 points and Jaylen Brown had 24. Tatum was 11-of-27 shooting and 11 for 13 from the free-throw line. While their performances weren’t enough to clinch a win, they’re good bets for player props.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns, 10 p.m. ET (ESPN) — Nuggets lead series 3-2

The NBA playoffs are typically a story of experience over youth, but not so in the case of the battle between the relatively inexperienced Denver Nuggets and the veteran Phoenix Suns.

The Suns have been to the NBA Finals in the last two years and they’ve got seasoned champ Kevin Durant. The Nuggets, on the other hand, have never made a Finals appearance. Of their starters, only Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has been to the Finals (with the Lakers in 2020).

But the Nuggets came into this playoffs as the No. 1 seed and have shown they deserved it. The Suns’ two wins in the series required Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to play nearly flawless games at home.

So far, each team has won each of its home games. Does that bode well for the Suns as the teams head back to Phoenix for Game 6? Oddsmakers seem to think so, with BetMGM Sportsbook listing the Suns as 3.5-point favorites.

But what about the players?

In the Nuggets’ Tuesday win over the Suns, two-time MVP Nikola Jokić notched his fourth triple-double of the postseason, getting 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. The Nuggets also demonstrated that their bench can show up with backup point guard Bruce Brown adding 25 points and five rebounds to their tally.

On the Suns’ side, Booker scored his team’s high of 28 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Durant scored 26 points and got 11 rebounds and seven assists. Chris Paul was out from a groin injury. As of this posting, he is undecided for Game 6.
