Tennessee Plummets in AP Poll Following Florida Loss

Tennessee has dropped 12 spots in the September 17 edition of the AP Top 25 Poll after their 29-16 loss to Florida on Saturday night.

The Vols are now ranked No. 23 in the nation, coming in as the fifth best team in the SEC behind No. 1 Georgia, No. 12 LSU,  No. 13 Alabama and No. 15 Ole Miss. Florida is the sixth and final SEC team ranked on the poll, coming in at No. 25.

The entire AP Poll can be seen here.

The significant drop in the poll should come as no surprise as Tennessee lost handedly to the Gators, giving up 26 unanswered points in the first half to fall behind 26-7 at the break.

Despite a bounce back second half from Tennessee’s defense, the Vols’ offense couldn’t put together enough scoring drives to mount the comeback.

After the disastrous Week 3 loss, Tennessee will have a chance to reset as they play their next three games at home, with a bye sandwiched in between.

The Vols welcome a 1-2 UTSA team first in the three-game stretch next Saturday, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. ET in Neyland Stadium.

  1. They MIGHT win 4 games but even that is a stretch for this undisciplined bunch of immature high school clowns.
It’s comical to rank them anywhere higher than 30 lol.

  2. Dang! You must be a profit. We’ll just have to wait and see if you are a false profit.
