Former Tennessee Vol Jalen Reeves-Maybin has been selected to the AP Second Team All-Pro roster, announced on Friday morning.

This is the first time that Reeves-Maybin has been selected to an AP All-Pro Team but did land as a Second-Team All-SEC selection at Tennessee in 2015.

The AP All-Pro selection is just one of a handful of postseason honors Reeves-Maybin has acquired this season. The former Vol was also named a Pro Bowl selection for the first time in his career this week and was named to the NFLPA All-Pro roster after the season by the players in the league.

Reeves-Maybin, a seventh-year player in the NFL, was fantastic for the Detroit Lions in their playoff push this season. Reeves-Maybin finished the season with 20 tackles, one sack, and a number of impressive plays on the Lions’ special teams unit.

The Clarksville, TN, native joined the Tennessee roster under then-head coach Butch Jones prior to the 2013 season. Reeves-Maybin jumped out to a great start during his freshman season and turned that into an impactful four-year career on Rocky Top.

Reeves-Maybin then entered his name into the 2017 NFL Draft and was selected by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round.

All in all, Reeves-Maybin ended his Tennessee career with 240 tackles, eight sacks, one interception, and four forced fumbles.

Reeves-Maybin played the first five years of his NFL career with Detroit from 2017 to 2021. The former Vol played the 2022 season with the Houston Texans but decided to return to Dan Campbell’s Detroit squad for the 2023 season, which has seen him play some of his most impactful football yet.

Reeves-Maybin will now stare down the NFL playoffs for the first time in his career. The three-seed Lions will host the six-seed Los Angeles Rams and rookie sensation Byron Young this Sunday night in the first round of the NFL Playoffs.
