Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. included Tennessee football in his top six on Saturday afternoon. The Vols joined Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State and South Carolina in the elite prospect’s top group.

Sanders is one of the top prospects in the entire 2025 recruiting cycle ranking as a five-star recruit and the No. 2 player nationally according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound lineman ranks as the top offensive tackle and the top player in the state of North Carolina in the 2025 recruiting cycle. A Charlotte native, Sanders attends Providence Day School— the same high school that former Tennessee basketball star Grant Williams attended.

Tennessee football has long targeted the elite offensive lineman as one of its most sought after targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Sanders has visited the Vols three times to date including for Tennessee’s matchup against Georgia back in November.

Landing Sanders will be a tough task but Tennessee has given themselves a chance to date. Getting the nation’s No. 2 player back on campus for a visit this spring will be very important.

Sanders have visited Clemson more than any other school, taking five recruiting trips there to date but has also visited Alabama four times, Georgia and South Carolina three times and Ohio State once.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains six commits but the Vols have yet to land an offensive lineman in their class to date. The Vols’ six-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 10 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
