Four-Star Tennessee Defensive Line Target Sets March Commitment Date

Four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley will announce his college commitment on March 28, he shared in a post on his X (Twitter) account on Friday afternoon.

Utley, a longtime Tennessee target, is deciding between a top group which includes Michigan, Oklahoma, Syracuse and Texas in addition to the Vols.

Utley ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 160 player in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. A standout at Ensworth School in Nashville, Utley is the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 17 defensive lineman in his class.

Tennessee las long targeted Utley as a top option in the 2025 recruiting cycle and have hosted him on more visits that any other school. Utley has been on four visits to Tennessee in the last year alone including a trip for one of the Vols’ January Junior Days as well as the Texas A&M and Georgia games last fall.

The blue-chip recruit has also taken two visits to Texas in the last year and one visit to both Oklahoma and Texas. Utley has yet to take a visit to Syracuse as new head coach Fran Brown has targeted a number of southern players using his ties from his stint as a Georgia assistant.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains six commits but none of those are from defensive lineman. Two of those commits are from players in the state of Tennessee including the state’s top player— five-star quarterback George MacIntyre.

The Vols’ six-commit recruiting class currently ranks 10th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.

    Only because they are playing in Tuscaloosa, but that is not a good excuse. Why
    Not call it even tonight. However, I think with Tenn w ins over the pass Top 25 opponents they stand a better chance tonight then you give them. I forgot they’re playing Alabama ” GOD” team.
