Miami receiver Isaiah Horton is entering the transfer portal after three years in Coral Gables, On3’s Hayes Fawcett first reported on Monday afternoon.
After a minimal role in his first two seasons at Miami, Horton elevated to a part time starter during his redshirt sophomore season. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver has two years of eligibility remaining.
Horton caught 56 passes for 616 yards and five touchdowns during the 2024 season, ranking second on the team in receptions, third in yards and fourth and touchdowns. His best game of the season came against USF when he caught eight passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.
The outside receiver also caught four passes for 70 yards against Florida and six passes for 71 yards and a touchdown against Duke.
More From RTI: Josh Heupel Not Willing to Reveal Any Secrets Before the Vols’ Playoff Game
Horton posted a 71.3 PFF grade last season in 531 total snaps. He earned a much better receiving game then he did a run blocking grade. His grade would have ranked second amongst Tennessee receivers behind just Dont’e Thornton last season.
Horton is a Murfreesboro native who played his high school football at Oakland High School. Tennessee recruited the four-star receiver out of high school before committing to the Hurricanes. Horton ranked as the No. 372 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.
Tennessee football is in need of receivers in the transfer portal this offseason. They lose seniors Bru McCoy and Dont’e Thornton to graduation and have had receivers Kaleb Webb, Chas Nimrod, Nathan Leacock and Nate Spillman enter the transfer portal earlier this offseason.
Combine those six losses with a Tennessee passing attack that’s been inconsistent at best this season and the Vols need to add more receivers in the transfer portal. With Horton being an outside receiver and Tennessee losing a number of outside receivers, he would be the type of player that the Vols could use.
