Ohio State and Notre Dame kick off tonight at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to crown the National Champion for the 2024-25 season.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Ohio State is the betting favorite to win the 2025-26 National Championship at +450.

The non SEC teams with better odds than Tennessee include Oregon (+650), Penn State (+850) and Notre Dame (+1200).

More From RTI: Where Tennessee Football Lands In Way-Too-Early Rankings

Tennessee football landed as the No. 9 overall seed in the first ever 12-team College Football Playoffs. The Vols season came to an end in the first round when Ohio State torched Tennessee 42-17 in Columbus.

Josh Heupel’s fourth Tennessee team finished the season with a 10-3 (6-2 SEC) record. It was the second time in three seasons that Tennessee won 10 games as Heupel continues to raise the profile of the program.

The challenge for Tennessee is to keep improving and climb higher-and-higher up the mountain as the margins get smaller.

Tennessee loses a number of key players off of last season’s team including SEC Offensive Player of the Year Dylan Sampson, potentially four of five starting offensive linemen and star edge rusher James Pearce Jr.

But the Vols do return a number of key players too as well as quarterback Nico Iamaleava, defensive end Josh Josephs, cornerback Jermod McCoy and the entirety of the linebacker room. Tennessee faces the same eight SEC teams as they did a year ago but will head on the road to face Florida and Alabama while facing Georgia at home.

Once again, the goal for Tennessee will be to go 10-2 in the regular season to secure themselves a spot in the playoffs for the second straight season.
