Some Quick Notes On St. Bonaventure.
It’s been a nice start to the season for a St. Bonaventure team that was picked to finish last in the A10 preseason poll by the league’s coaches.
The Bonnies are 7-4 to open the season, winning three of four games against Gardner Webb and dropping two of three against Morehead State to open the season. St. Bonaventure has been in the state of Tennessee this past week. They played three games against three different opponents at MTSU last weekend before falling to Vanderbilt 14-1 (7 innings) in a midweek game earlier this week. The Vanderbilt game was the Bonnies first against a power five team this season.
St. Bonaventure’s pitching starting pitching staff has been good so far this season. All three projected starters have ERAs under five while Friday starter James Capellupo is 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA)
Tennessee Sticking With Pitching Plan
Tennessee has had the same pitching plan entering its first three series of the season and they’re keeping it the same this weekend.
Liam Doyle is the Keith Law’s top prospect in the MLB Draft after striking out 34 batters and allowing one run in his first three starts.
Junior right hander Marcus Phillips will start on Saturday and enters the contest with a 1.35 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 13.1 innings pitched.
Tennessee’s Sunday pitching plan is up in the air as it has been all season. Nate Snead started on Sunday the first weekend followed by Brandon Arvidson against Samford and freshman Tegan Kuhns last weekend against Rice.
A Quick Prediction
Tennessee sweeps with a pair of rune-rule victories.
