Four-star tight end Carson Sneed was Tennessee football’s second commit in its 2026 recruiting class, committing to Josh Heupel and his staff back in August.
But Sneed has visited a handful of other schools in recent months and has six official visits lined up for this summer according to On3’s Chad Simmons. Sneed plans on taking official visits to North Carolina, UCLA, Ole Miss, Miami and Colorado starting in April and lasting until June.
A Nashville native, Sneed also took unofficial visits to Ole Miss, Miami, North Carolina and Colorado over the last three months.
Sneed ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 259 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Donelson Christian Academy standout ranks as the No. 7 player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 14 tight end in the 2026 recruiting class.

While the five official visits are bad news for Tennessee, the good news is that the Vols are getting the final official visit. Sneed plans to officially visit Tennessee on June 20 to wrap up his run of official visits.
The Vols’ 2026 recruiting class currently contains eight commits with Sneed being the only tight end commit. However, tight end isn’t a huge emphasis for Tennessee in the 2026 recruiting cycle after they signed a pair of four-stars— Da’Saahn Brame and Jack Van Dorselear— last cycle. Brame was one of the highest rated signees in the Vols’ 2025 recruiting class.
Tennessee football’s eight commit 2026 recruiting class currently ranks No. 11 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings. None of the 10 teams higher than Tennessee in the rankings have less commits than the Vols at this point.
