Oklahoma Transfer Guard Visiting Tennessee Basketball This Week

Oklahoma transfer guard Duke Miles will is visiting Tennessee basketball this Wednesday, The Athletic’s Tobias Bass first reported and multiple sources confirmed to RTI.

It’s one of four visits the super senior guard is taking next week. Miles will visit Texas A&M before his trip to Tennessee before going to both USC and Baylor later in the week.

Miles started all 34 games for Oklahoma last season, averaging 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists per game. The 6-foot-2 guard made 40 three-pointers over the course of the season at an impressive 43% clip. He played shooting guard for the Sooners but does have a little bit of ability to run the point.

A Montgomery native, Miles spent the first three years of his college career at local Troy before transferring to High Point before the 2023-24 season. Miles then transferred to Oklahoma before last season but is back in the portal ahead of his final year of eligibility.

Miles ranks as a consensus four-star transfer. 247sports ranks him as a four-star and the No. 216 player in the portal while On3 ranks him as a four-star and the No. 142 player in the portal. EvanMiya is the highest on Miles, ranking him as the No. 65 player in the portal.

Tennessee basketball currently has three scholarships to work with in the transfer portal. They’ve landed Maryland point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie as well as Vanderbilt power forward Jaylen Carey in the portal to date. Rick Barnes and his staff also landed five-star prep wing Nate Ament alongside three other high school recruits.

Shooting guard is now by far Tennessee’s biggest need in the portal. They need to add two more to the roster including one that’s starting caliber. The Vols hosted Maryland shooting guard Rodney Rice on a visit last weekend as Miles emerges as another option.
