Tennessee baseball dropped its second straight series and its third in the last four weeks after grabbing one game in the weekend set at LSU.
The heartbreak came for the Vols in game one of the weekend series when Tennessee took a 3-0 lead into the ninth inning before two Dean Curley errors led to an unraveling and a 6-3 LSU victory courtesy of a Jared Jones walk-off homer.
Tennessee responded in game two with a 9-3 win thanks in large part to a six-run eighth inning which included a three-run homer from Cannon Peebles to left field. However, the Vols could not continue the momentum from game two over to game three. After Tennessee jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, LSU proceeded to score the next 12 runs to earn an eight inning run-rule victory.
The Vols bullpen continued their recent struggles against the Tigers and they were most noticeable in game three when Tennessee used seven relievers and very few were effective.
Tennessee once again fell in the rankings following its third series loss in April, but how far did they fall? Taking a look here.
