Former Tennessee players Jahmai Mashack and Igor Milicic Jr. have received invitations to the NBA G-League Elite Camp in Chicago this week.

Mashack and Milicic are two of 44 players to receive invitations to the event, alongside notable SEC players such as Auburn’s Dylan Cardwell, Arkansas’s Johnell Davis, Texas’s Arthur Kaluma, Auburn’s Miles Kelly, Florida’s Will Richard, Texas A&M’s Wade Taylor IV, Kentucky’s Amari Williams, and Alabama’s Chris Youngblood.

The NBA G-League Elite Camp will take place from May 9-11, right before the 2025 NBA Combine from May 11-18. Both events will take place in Chicago, Illinois.

According to the official website, the NBA G-League Elite camp is a two-day event that “gives NBA Draft prospects an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives.” In addition to standard on-court drills and interviews, there will also be separate five-on-five games for prospects to showcase their talents in an in-game scenario.

There’s also an opportunity to advance. Some of the top competitors from the two-day camp will receive an invitation to participate in the NBA Combine. Former Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier has already accepted an invitation to the combine.

Jahmai Mashack played at Tennessee for four seasons and cemented himself as a cornerstone piece of Rick Barnes’ tenure in Knoxville. Known for his defensive ferocity, the SEC All-Defensive Team selection was primarily tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best player. In his final season at Tennessee, Mashack averaged career highs in points (6.0), steals (1.7), rebounds (4.2), FG% (45.4%), and minutes (28.2).

Mashack also has the off-court qualities that an organization would be looking for. He was named a Tennessee Torchbearer recipient and Second Harvest’s 2025 Advocacy Award winner following his senior season in Knoxville.

Igor Milicic Jr. transferred to Tennessee for his final season of college basketball in 2024. In one season with the Vols, Milicic started all 37 games he played in and averaged 9.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. The 6-foot-10 forward scored a season-high 23 points against Austin Peay and scored a conference slate-high 21 in a narrow win over Missouri.

Mashack and Milicic will compete in the 2025 NBA G-League Elite Camp on May 9th for a chance at qualifying for the NBA Combine later that week. Stay tuned to Rocky Top Insider for more news from their path to the NBA Draft next week.
