Tennessee baseball is in the thick of its 2025 series as they look to wrap up the regular season with a series victory at Arkansas to put itself in strong position to host a regional.

But the Vols announced some news about their non conference schedule for the 2026 season on Friday morning. Tennessee is headed back to Texas to play in the third weekend of the Amergy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington.

Tennessee will play three games from Feb. 27 to March 1 at the Texas Rangers stadium. There’s six teams in the event that weekend including Tennessee, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Arizona State, UCLA and Virginia Tech. While the Vols didn’t explicitly state their opponents, they will almost certainly play Arizona State, UCLA and Virginia Tech in the event.

The 2026 season will mark the third straight year and the fourth time in five years that Tennessee has played an early season event in the Lone Star State. Tennessee played in Houston this season, Dallas in the 2024 season and in Houston during the 2022 season. Tony Vitello’s squad played in a multi-team event in Arizona during the 2023 season.

Tennessee went 3-0 in Houston this season with wins over Arizona, Oklahoma State and Rice. Last season at Globe Life Stadium, the Vols went 2-1 with wins over Texas Tech and Baylor and a loss against Oklahoma.  Back in 2022, Tennessee went 2-1 in Houston with wins over Oklahoma and Baylor and a loss against Texas.

The Amergy Bank College Baseball Series is the first part of Tennessee baseball’s schedule that we know for the 2026 season. The multi-team events are typically the main challenge Vitello’s squads face in non conference play.
