Tennessee football’s 2026 class is coming into form in a hurry.

On Tuesday, after a pair of four-star commitments from defensive lineman Dereon Albert and linebacker TJ White, Josh Heupel has added a piece to the Vols’ secondary. In-state cornerback Jamyan Theodore, a three-star, announced his commitment to Tennessee.

He is the No. 768 player in the class and No. 64 cornerback, according to 247 composite rankings. He is from Chattanooga, where he plays for powerhouse Baylor School. He was teammates there with current UT freshman wide receiver Joakim Dodson. The two connected on his official visit to Knoxville in June.

Theodore picked the Vols over Louisville, Ole Miss and Wisconsin. He also held offers from the likes of Kentucky, Duke, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

This summer, he took his round of official visits to his finalists. He started by heading to Lexington to see Kentucky, but the Wildcats did not make the cut for his final four he announced the day before his commitment.

Theodore followed it up by checking out Wisconsin, then Ole Miss. He hit Tennessee on June 13 among a group of other top UT prospects. He capped it off with a visit to Louisville. The Cardinals got the final word in, but it evidently wasn’t enough to swing him away from the Vols.

Out of Chattanooga, Theodore made the short trip to Knoxville a few times throughout the recruiting process. Prior to his pivotal official visit, he got to campus on May 24 for the popular ‘865 Live’ event. This was his first time visiting with an offer, after he picked it up on April 21. He also was in town on April 12 for the annual Orange & White Spring Game.

This is the fourth addition to the class in the secondary for Tennessee this cycle. Theodore joins three-star Zaydyn Anderson at cornerback with three-stars KJ McClain and Luke Thompson also committed at safety.

Theodore is the 16th commitment in the class for Heupel and company. The group ranks as the No. 12 class in the country after the trio of additions on Tuesday afternoon, according to 247.
