Just one day before the Fourth of July, Tennessee has released images and videos of its new military-inspired Smokey Grey Uniform set.
The uniforms include a two-tone jersey and pants set with orange accessories.

“Tennessee’s defining pillar of service and selfless leadership for more than 200 years, the ‘Volunteer Spirit’ provides the inspiration behind the newest Nike Smokey Grey series football uniform that will honor the United States Armed Forces during the fall of 2025,” Tennessee published in a press release on Thursday. “The ‘Volunteer Spirit’ uniform also pays tribute to the ultimate legendary Volunteer, Davy Crockett, and was brought to life in collaboration with the Tennessee Military Department, the 134th Air Refueling Wing in East Tennessee and the Tennessee National Guard.”
“Two-Tone Grey: A striking two-tone set, like steel forged from military artillery. Strong, resilient and ready for battle on the gridiron.
The Davy Stripe: A modern take on Davy Crockett’s famous, fringed uniform. Inspired by a Tennessee hero who stood tall on the frontier and made his final stand at the Alamo.
Stencil Numbers: Inspired by the military standard, this font ensures numbers stay sharp & legible through any challenge.
Star Vols: This popular logo returns for the first time since the turn of the century and the program’s decade of dominance. It appears both as a military-inspired patch and on the front helmet bumper.
The Mountains: A staple throughout the Smokey Grey series, the Smokey Mountain helmet pattern returns to the Volunteer Spirit uniform. In this instance, the East Tennessee landscape serves as a visual reminder of the notable veteran and military presence in this region of the state.”

This is the fourth iteration of Nike’s Smokey Grey uniform concept. When Tennessee brought the smokey grey uniforms back in 2022, it announced a plan to wear four different smokey grey uniforms over the following four seasons.

Awesome !!! I love how it involves those who truly fight for our country.
These uniforms are horrible. Tennessee’s colors are orange and white, and football is not the military. Paying college players like NFL is bad enough, but these uniforms are the last straw. I will never watch another UT game as long as I live.
