West Virginia transfer offensive linemen Donovan Haslam committed to Tennessee football out of the portal Friday, according to a report from Chris Hummer. Haslam visited Tennessee on Thursday and then committed to the Vols just a day later.
Haslam is a versatile offensive lineman who played snaps at left guard, right guard and left tackle last season. He started the year coming off the bench but then started the final five games of the season at left guard for the Mountaineers.
The 6-foot-3, 346-pound offensive lineman earned a 61.7 PFF grade while playing 444 snaps last season. He earned a 74.7 pass block grade and a 59.7 run block grade during the 2025 season.
Haslam spent the first three years of his college career at Austin Peay. Haslam suffered an injury during the 2023 season which led to him redshirting and gives him one more year of eligibility. He’s played 1,205 total snaps during his college career.
It’s unclear exactly how Haslam will fit into Tennessee’s offensive line next season, but the Vols have been looking to add a veteran player for depth in the portal. Haslam is an ideal fit because of his ability to play both inside and outside.

The Vols return four of five offensive line starters from last season. Starting left tackle Lance Heard transferred to Kentucky this offseason. Tennessee will likely move former five-star David Sanders from right tackle to left tackle ahead of next season.
The Vols return interior offensive linemen Wendell Moe, Sam Pendleton and Sham Umarov. However, Tennessee lost backups William Satterwhite, Bennett Warren and Max Anderson to the portal.
Haslam is the 12th player to commit to Tennessee out of the transfer portal this offseason, joining LSU offensive tackle Ory Williams, Penn State LEO Chaz Coleman, Tulane LEO Jordan Norman, Penn State inside linebacker Amare Campbell, Penn State safety Dejuan Lane, Penn State defensive tackle Xavier Gilliam, Kansas State nickelback Qua Moss, Michigan safety TJ Metcalf, Auburn cornerback Kayin Lee, Louisville kicker Cooper Ranvier and Eastern Kentucky linebacker/long snapper Blake Howard.
