
Four-star offensive tackle Dominic Black released his top eight on Wednesday afternoon with Tennessee football making the cut. The Vols joined a top group that includes Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan State, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Black ranks as a four-star and the No. 190 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. A New Madison native, Black ranks as the No. 19 offensive tackle and the No. 7 player in the state of Ohio in the 2027 class.
247sports own rankings are even higher on Black, ranking him as a four-star recruit, the No. 125 player and No. 18 offensive tackle in the country.
Black is a standout at Tri-Village High School in New Madison where he helped lead the Patriots to an 11-1 record last season. Playing both offensive and defensive line, Black totaled 35 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He is also a track-and-field athlete.

The blue-chip offensive lineman took an unofficial visit to Tennessee earlier this month during spring practice. The Vols are now looking to get Black back on campus for an official visit as they look to become a more serious player in his recruitment.
Black took visits to Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Michigan State this spring. He’s scheduled to return to Blacksburg for an official visit with Virginia Tech in June.
Tennessee football’s 2027 recruiting class currently contains six commits including from one offensive lineman— four-star Murfreesboro native Princeton Uwaifo. The Vols’ six-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 30 nationally and No. 9 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
