Ahead of Sunday’s game three against Texas, Tennessee baseball held its Senior Day festivities. The Vols honored a quartet of seniors during the ceremony, outfielder Reese Chapman and pitchers Brandon Arvidson, Evan Blanco and Mark Hindy.

Of the four, Chapman is the only one to spend his entire college career on Rocky Top. As his successful tenure as a Vol comes to a close, he made sure to leave with a bang. In the bottom of the first inning, with two outs and the bases loaded, Chapman drilled a home run to tie the game up at four.

The grand slam went 355 feet to right field, had a 19.9 degree launch angle, 106 miles per hour exit velocity and was his ninth homer of the year.

“It’s meant the world to me,” Chapman said in a Senior Day video. “Being a Vol is what I wanted to do ever since I stepped foot on campus and be a Vol For Life as the motto is said here. I couldn’t be any more grateful than being a Vol For Life, winning a national championship with all my brothers. Getting to celebrate with them. A lot of my favorite memories aren’t on the field, and they’re with my brothers and the teammates I have around me, and just hanging out with them.”

Chapman was a sophomore on the Tennessee team that won the 2024 national championship. That year, he appeared in 50 games and started in 32. He hit .274 with seven home runs.
