In Tennessee Baseball’s last two home SEC series against Alabama and Texas, the Volunteers have averaged nine runs per game. Tennessee did struggle a bit at times last weekend on the road at Kentucky, but things have been better for the offense overall compared to previous points in the season.
This past weekend, Tennessee scored five runs against Texas in Game 1, 14 runs in Game 2, and six runs in Game 3.
With the recent success that Josh Elander’s group has seen, has Tennessee’s offense officially turned the corner with postseason play right around the corner?
RTI’s Ryan Schumpert and Jack Foster dove into that question on Monday’s episode of RTI: Diamond Pass.

More From RTI: Where Tennessee Baseball Lands In Last Bracketology Updates Of Regular Season
“The Vols’ 25 runs (against Texas) were their second most in a SEC series behind only their 29 runs against Alabama two weeks prior,” RTI’s Ryan Schumpert wrote on Monday. “Trent Grindlinger has proved he’s a legit middle of the order bat while Reese Chapman and Blake Grimmer are consistent left-handed threats hitting in the two and five spots. This offense still isn’t perfect, as was evident at Kentucky, but the group has proved to be a strength the back half of SEC play.”
