Tennessee football is poised to have another critical recruiting weekend on campus. This time, it features perhaps the biggest target on the Vols’ board, five-star and in-state running back David Gabriel Georges.
Starting on Friday, June 5, Gabriel Georges will be in town for his official visit. This comes after taking his official visit to Ohio State last weekend, which by all accounts was an extreme success for the Buckeyes. This makes the visit up the road to Rocky Top even more critical as Tennessee looks to get back in the mix.
The other teams that will host Gabriel Georges for official visits are Ole Miss on June 12 and then Georgia on June 19. However, it seems the race will be between the Vols and Buckeyes. As things currently stand, multiple early predictions favor Ohio State, though. This includes a pair from Rivals after his OSU visit.

Gabriel Georges has a commitment date set for July 22, 2026. That will allow him to take his official visits and then return home to weigh his options before making his decision.
According to 247 Composite, he is considered the No. 10 player in the class, No. 2 running back and top player from the state of Tennessee. Though initially from Quebec, he currently lives in Chattanooga, where he plays for Baylor School.
“Hard-driving running back with the quickness and power to emerge as the centerpiece of an offense for a College Football Playoff contender,” 247 director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Already owns ready-to-play bulk as he tips the scales at just over 205 pounds and uses that weight to his advantage as he sheds tackles and bounces off contact. Quick out the chute with his acceleration as he picks a lane and motors forwards. Reads blocks well, but can change course in the snap of a finger and get out of trouble…”
Currently, Tennessee’s class of 2027 commitment list ranks just outside the top-30 on both 247 and Rivals. However, the Vols have laid a strong foundation to build on and are in good standing with a number of highly-rated recruits.
