Tennessee football has landed its third commitment of the weekend late on Sunday night. Defensive back Dylan Haley verbally pledged to the Vols coming off his official visit to Knoxville. He picked UT over the likes of Ole Miss, Florida and Auburn.
Haley is a three-star recruit and ranks as the No. 691 prospect in the country, via 247 Composite. He is the No. 53 athlete and No. 84 player out of the state of Georgia. He is from Flowery Branch, Georgia, where he plays for Cherokee Bluff.
While Haley is listed as an athlete, it appears Tennessee sees him as a cornerback. His primary recruiter is new cornerbacks coach Derek Jones, and he was also recruited by new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. He was also paid a visit by co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Anthony Poindexter.

Haley also took an official visit to Auburn the weekend prior to seeing Tennessee. He has visits set to check out Florida and Ole Miss later in June, but his commitment will likely take those off the table. This is also Haley’s second time in Knoxville in the last few months. He was also in town in April for the Orange and White Game.
Haley is the third commitment this weekend for Josh Heupel and the Vols. He joins four-star and local tight end Malik Howard and junior college defensive lineman Christian Mays out of Northeast Mississippi CC.
Prior to his commitment, Tennessee owned the No. 41 class in the country on 247. This should see a small boost after Haley’s pledge, with big fish also coming off official visits that seem to have gone well.
