It appears that elite 2027 running back David Gabriel Georges knows where he wants to commit to. According to a report from Rivals on Monday, Gabriel Georges’ uncle tells Steve Wiltfong that the five-star prospect has his “mind made up” on which program he will choose.
Gabriel Georges’ three finalists of Ohio State, Tennessee, and Ole Miss anxiously await the Chattanooga prospect’s decision with his announcement on the horizon. According to multiple reports, he will announce his collegiate commitment on Wednesday, July 22.
According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos last Wednesday, Gabriel Georges “is expected to be the highest-paid running back recruit in history,” and that he is “in line to become the first running back prospect with a $1 million deal.”
On3’s Chris Low has also added to the report: “Told by several close to the situation that Georges has felt a sense of relief since making his decision and is ‘100 percent comfortable with it.’ He will be the highest-paid RB ever coming out of high school.”
Rivals’ Industry Rankings tag Gabriel Georges as the No. 9 prospect in the class, the No. 2 running back in the cycle, and the top player from the Volunteer State. The Quebec, Canada, native currently plays for Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN.

Tennessee has put its best foot forward in DGG’s recruitment. During his official visit to Rocky Top last month, Tennessee gave its best pitch while also bringing in VFL and NFL superstar Alvin Kamara to be Gabriel Georges’ shadow throughout his time on campus.
The five-star prospect also took official visits to Ohio State and Ole Miss during his recruitment.
Tennessee Football has produced three straight 1,000-yard rushers under head coach Josh Heupel. Jaylen Wright ran for 1,013 yards in 2023, Dylan Sampson broke UT records with 1,491 yards in 2024, and former walk-on running back DeSean Bishop reached 1,076 yards this past season. Bishop returns to the Vols this season and will have a chance to build on his breakout campaign in 2025.
Tennessee Football’s 2027 16-man recruiting class is currently ranked 33rd in the nation on Rivals. Landing Gabriel Georges would make for the Vols’ first five-star recruit in the cycle.
