Knox Catholic picked up the 41-20 win over Lipscomb on Friday night.
King has been one of the top rising receiving prospects in the 2026 recruiting cycle. The future Knox Catholic product is ranked as a four-star prospect according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, coming in as the No. 106 player in the class, the No. 11 wide receiver in the nation, and the No. 4 player from the state of Tennessee.
“Big play waiting to happen at wide receiver,” On3 Sports’ Charles Power wrote about King in an August evaluation. “Measured at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 with arms a shade under 31.5 inches before his senior season. An elite athlete in the combine setting with long speed and explosion. Carries that athleticism over to the field, where he is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Flashes high-end burst off the line of scrimmage. Easily stacks corners in man coverage. A loose mover with considerable shake within his routes, effortlessly shifting gears.”
Tennessee wide receiver coach Kelsey Pope was on hand to watch King in action on Friday night.

Pope wasn’t the only Tennessee coach out under the Friday night lights, though. Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel was at the Brentwood Academy vs Baylor School game on Friday to watch 2027 running back target David Gabriel Georges.
Heupel and Pope are back in Neyland Stadium on Saturday for Tennessee’s rainy home opener against ETSU at 3:30 p.m. ET. Stay tuned to Rocky Top Insider for complete coverage of the game.
