2026 three-star edge rusher Andrew ‘Pook’ Rogers has finally decommitted from Virginia Tech. After the firing of Brent Pry early in the season, he began to take trips across the country. On Sunday, he officially backed off his pledge to the Hokies.

Rogers is high school teammates with five-star Tennessee quarterback commit and No. 1 overall recruit Faizon Brandon at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Both were on campus for a game day visit when the Vols fell to Georgia in overtime.

Rogers ranks as a three-star and the No. 369 overall player in the 2026 class, according to 247 composite. He is the No. 28 edge rusher in the cycle and No. 13 player out of North Carolina.

Before committing to Virginia Tech, Rogers had a final five of the Hokies, Auburn, Michigan State, LSU and Florida State. However, he’s visited UT, NC State, Georgia and South Carolina for game day visits this year.

Rogers initially planned to be in Blacksburg for an official visit the weekend he was in Knoxville. However, in the week leading up to it, he cancelled it and decided to check out Tennessee instead for the game against Georgia. He had been committed to Virginia Tech since August 22, 2025.

The Vols offered Rogers on May 31 this past spring. UT joined the likes of Arkansas, UCLA, Michigan State, Georgia, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame, Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina and Kentucky as teams after his talents.

Tennessee’s 2026 class ranks as the No. 4 group in the country, according to 247. This is behind just USC, Alabama and Texas A&M.

As the cycle gets down to the wire and early signing day looms, Tennessee is in battles to hold onto multiple recruits and attempts to flip recruits from other programs. The Vols have been tied to four-star UCLA offensive lineman commit Micah Smith and four-star Wisconsin running back commit Amari Latimer.

On the other hand, Vols four-star athlete commit Legend Bey is coming off a visit to see Ohio State. He projects to play wide receiver if he sticks with his pledge to Tennessee.
