Tennessee football’s 2026 class sits inside the top four in the country on 247, and the Vols are now off to a strong start in the 2027 cycle, as well. This includes making the top schools list for five-star athlete Xavier Sabb.

Sabb named a top 10 of UT, Alabama, USC, Oregon, Miami, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Nebraska and Georgia, according to a report from Hayes Fawcett.

Sabb is considered the No. 21 recruit in the country in the 2027 class on 247 composite. He is ranked as the No. 1 athlete and No. 1 player out of New Jersey. He plays for Glassboro High School in Glassboro, New Jersey.

He plays both sides of the ball at wide receiver and safety at the prep level. However, it’s Tim Banks at the lead of his recruitment, indicating Tennessee likely sees him more as a defensive back.

Dangerous as a return man, as well, as he slices through traffic…”

The Vols recently landed a near-top-100 recruit in the 2027 class in offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He is Tennessee’s third and highest-ranked commitment to the 2027 class. He sits alongside three-star linebacker JP Peace, who committed back in June, and three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, who committed in mid-October.

Uwaifo’s commitment also sent Tennessee a good bit up the early recruiting rankings, with the Vols moving from No. 21 to No. 15 in 247’s team rankings.
