Tennessee landed a commitment from Michigan transfer defensive back Tevis Metcalf on Saturday, according to a report from On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Metcalf is the younger brother of safety TJ Metcalf, who also transferred from Michigan to Tennessee last Tuesday.
Tevis Metcalf began his collegiate career at Arkansas alongside his brother TJ. He played in all 12 games during his true freshman season in 2024, primarily in a special teams role, but did see some defensive back reps in games against Arkansas Pine Bluff and Auburn. The Metcalf brothers then transferred to Michigan for the 2025 season.
As a sophomore, Metcalf recorded four tackles and a forced fumble in a handful of games. He tallied tackles against New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Maryland.
Tevis Metcalf will have two seasons of eligibility remaining while his brother, TJ, will have one left. Metcalf stands at 5-foot-10, 186 pounds, and was a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He hails from Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson, AL.
