Lady Vols basketball is hitting the road for a game early in the 2026-27 schedule. Tennessee will play at Coppin State in a true road game in Baltimore next season. The game is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, with a tip-off time and TV designation yet to be determined.
The Eagles are used to hosting top programs, as well. The Lady Vols mark the sixth-straight season a Power Four team will make the trip to Baltimore to play Coppin State. Past trips were made by Maryland (2021-22), Pitt (2022-23), LSU (2023-24), Arizona State (2024-25) and South Carolina (2025-26).
This will be the second time Tennessee and Coppin State have met in women’s basketball. The first meeting was last season, when the Lady Vols defeated the Eagles 88-35 at home. In that game, Nya Robertson topped Samara Spencer’s mark for the most threes made in a single game at 10.
Last season, Coppin State finished 10-23 (6-8 MEAC) before advancing to the MEAC Semifinals. The Eagles were 6-6 at home, 3-13 on the road and 1-4 in neutral site games.

This is one of two games the Lady Vols have an official game date for in the 2026-27 season. Tennessee will also play Baylor in Nashville on Dec. 18, 2026, at Bridgestone Arena. The tip-off time and broadcast details are not yet revealed.
Also on the docket that day will be a game between two schools in Nashville. Vanderbilt and Belmont will square off in a game following the Lady Vols’ matchup with the Bears.
This meeting will be the ninth time Tennessee and Baylor have met in women’s basketball and the first since 2016. However, the Bears lead the series 6-2. This comes on a six-game win streak over the Lady Vols after dropping the first two meetings between the programs. In neutral site matchups, Tennessee is 1-2 against Baylor.
