One of the top-ranked recruits on the board for Tennessee football is no longer taking an official visit to Knoxville. Five-star wide receiver Easton Royal has canceled visits to see both the Vols and Ole Miss, according to a report from Rivals. He was supposed to be on Rocky Top this weekend.
A Texas commit since November, Royal has been hearing from multiple schools across the SEC trying to land his talents. However, it appears Florida and LSU are the two schools with the biggest chance to flip him away from the Longhorns.
Royal ranks as the No. 8 player in the 2027 class, according to 247 Composite. He’s also the No. 2 wide receiver and top player from the state of Louisiana. Out of New Orleans, he plays for Brother Martin.

Currently, Tennessee’s class of 2027 commitment list ranks just outside the top-30 on both 247 and Rivals. However, the Vols have laid a strong foundation to build on and are in good standing with a number of highly-rated recruits.
The group of nine commits features a trio of highly-touted four-stars. Headlining is in-state wide receiver, Kesean Bowman. He is a top-50 prospect and one of the top pass catchers in the class. In-state offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife are also highly ranked.
Three-stars in the class are quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, in-state legacy linebacker JP Peace, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Slim Leavell. UT also added the No. 2-ranked long snapper in the cycle, Sam McKeown.
