Tennessee Football Extends Offer to Son of Former NFL Receiver, All-American

The 2027 class is the focus for Tennessee football and the rest of the country, but the Vols are also keeping their eye on the future. In this effort, UT has been extending some offers to different prospects across the nation.

One of the recent offers to be handed out was extended to class of 2029 wide receiver Rush Williams. He announced the offer on Wednesday, with it coming through the route of offensive analyst Deonte’ Cruse.

Williams is not ranked by 247, with his class not fully analyzed yet. He stands at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds entering his sophomore year out of Fulshear, Texas. He plays for Katy Jordan High School.

Other offers on the table so far for Williams include Alabama, Colorado, Duke, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Houston, NC State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, SMU and more.

He is also the son of a former star college receiver. Williams’ dad is Reggie Williams, who played for Washington in the early 2000s. He was a consensus All-American in 2002, Pac-10 Co-Freshman of the Year in 2001 and a two-time First-Team All-Pac 10 and one-time Second-Team All-Pac 10 member.

After his college career, Reggie Williams was drafted with the ninth overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. He played for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2004-08, totalling 2,322 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns.

Tennessee currently has no commitments in the 2028 or 2029 classes. However, the 2027 class features 16 commitments and ranks No. 46 in the country on 247.
