Tennessee quarterback and early enrollee Nico Iamaleava is on the practice field in Knoxville and Rocky Top Insider was there on Saturday to see it in person.
After making his practice debut before the weekend, Iamaleava and the Vols took to the field on Saturday morning for a cold and windy practice on campus.
The practice was only made open to the media for about 20 minutes, but it was enough to see the former No. 2 overall prospect in action. Iamaleava looked smooth in his delivery and his footwork as he constantly received tips and coaching from starter Joe Milton III and quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle.
When he wasn’t actively participating in a rep, Iamaleava was consistently going through the motions behind each quarterback in play, making sure he had the basics down. In what was seen by the media, the quarterbacks were working on footwork and reads from the pocket.
After practice was over, Tennessee HC Josh Heupel stated that he will wait until next Wednesday, early signing day, to talk about Tennessee’s new arrivals in detail.
