…2003 game against the No. 6 Miami Hurricanes in the Orange Bowl where the Vols snapped Hurricanes’ 26-game winning streak. I don’t at all recall this game as fondly as I do the game in South Bend. Yet I mention them in the same breath in the context of unlikely upsets. (Not comebacks. Notre Dame obviously takes the cake on that one.)

The game was an ugly affair — the Vols managed just 170 yards of total offense the entire game. The most important two of those yards coming on a fourth-down gamble right before the half. Quarterback Casey Clausen faked the handoff to Jabari Davis leapt over the top while Derek Tinsley came from the left side to run the end around right into the end zone. The ensuing extra point gave UT a 10-3 lead at the break. The next 30 minutes of football would yield just three points and Tennessee escaped with the 10-6 win.
