4. S Micah Abernathy
There wasn’t a ton of hype surrounding Abernathy in the offseason, but the Atlanta-area native has been one of the most pleasant surprises so far this season. He made the game-winning pass deflection against Appalachian State in the opener, recorded three fumble recoveries in the Battle at Bristol, and has been a steady force at safety for the Vols through a third of the regular season thus far.
