Secondary
Malik Foreman was out again, but that doesn’t excuse the secondary’s lackluster play against a less-than-stellar South Carolina receiving corps. Deebo Samuel especially had a solid game, bringing in eight receptions for 83 yards. Freshman quarterback Jake Bentley wasn’t asked to do too much, but he flourished in his role, completing 15-of-20 passes for 167 yards and two scores. Bentley made some good throws and wasn’t intercepted a single time despite this being only his second career start.
