This game was all any Vol fan could talk about all offseason. No matter what the conversation was about for the upcoming Tennessee football season, the talk always came back to the Florida game. The Vols had lost 11 consecutive games to the Gators heading into this season, and they looked well on their way to a 12th straight loss when they fell behind 21-0 in the first half and trailed 21-3 at halftime.

Then Tennessee’s receivers started catching passes, and the wind was knocked out of the Gators.

The Vols scored 35 unanswered points in the second half and had 38 unanswered points total en route to a 38-28 victory over Florida, their first since 2004. Josh Dobbs piled up 399 yards of total offense to go with five total touchdowns, and the defense shut down Florida’s offense in the second half. It wasn’t a perfect performance for the entire game, but Tennessee did put together a nearly flawless second half to spur them on to victory.
