3. For Butch Jones to Prove Himself
One way or another, Vol fans want Butch Jones to prove what he really is. Is he cut out to be an SEC head coach? Or is his ceiling truly just an 8-4 head coach?
For some, that question was already answered during the 2016 season. But a good portion of Tennessee’s fan base is still holding out hope that 2017 can prove to be a bounce back year for Jones and the Vols. The talent will be there on the roster, even if it is younger talent at this point. And the SEC East will still be bad.
Vol fans would obviously prefer for Jones and Co. to go out and win the East in 2017 and bring success back to Tennessee. But one way or the other, Vol fans just want to know what they have in Jones. And if 2016 didn’t already convince you, 2017 probably will regardless of how it turns out.
