Special Teams
Tennessee uncharacteristically struggled on special teams in this game. Trevor Daniel had his usual great game, and Tyler Byrd ripped off a good kick return, but the success was limited outside of that. Aaron Medley did nail a 46-yard field goal, but he kicked two kickoffs out of bounds and nearly had a third go out as well. Cam Sutton only had one punt return and managed to do little with it, and Byrd’s good return was the only damage done for the Vols in the return game. Tennessee’s coverage teams did an excellent job, but overall it wasn’t the best performance by a usually superb group.
