Tennessee hit the practice field in shells on Wednesday for their third practice this week as head coach Jeremy Pruitt’s bowl eligible squad continues to prepare for the 2019 regular season finale.

The only Vols riding the bike off to the side with the strength and conditioning staff were junior defensive lineman Aubrey Solomon and redshirt sophomore offensive lineman K’Rojhn Calbert. Solomon, who is dealing with knee, head, and shoulder injuries, was on the bike during Tuesday’s practice as well. Calbert was not.

With Calbert on the bike, Tennessee’s first team O-line during combination blocks consisted of Wanya Morris at left tackle, Trey Smith at left guard, Brandon Kennedy at center, Jerome Carvin at right guard and Darnell Wright at right tackle. The second team O-line unit consisted of Jahmir Johnson, Riley Locklear, Jackson Lampley, Ryan Johnson, and Chris Akporoghene from left to right.

Towards the end of individual drills, Akporoghene was sent over to the scout team O-line where he worked at right guard.

Tennessee offensive line commit Cooper Mays was in attendance to watch the linemen go through drills.

As you can imagine, Tennessee’s receivers were as energetic as ever. Tee Martin worked his unit through a drill that focused on catching the football with concentration.

When the wide receivers teamed up with the quarterbacks, Jarrett Guarantano and J.T. Shrout were the first quarterbacks to go during routes-versus-air. After that, both Shrout and Brian Maurer went together. Tennessee’s passing game worked on red zone and end zone throws.

Princeton Fant, who saw several snaps at tight end against Missouri, was working at wide receiver as Austin Pope returned to the unit after riding the bike on Tuesday.

Maryland transfer Kasim Hill was playing the role of Vanderbilt quarterback Deuce Wallace.

Defensively, freshman Quavaris Crouch continued to work with the inside linebackers, while John Mincey and Darel Middleton worked with the outside linebackers. Henry To’o To’o continues to practice with a rather large brace on his right elbow and his right knee. Jordan Allen was also going through drills.

The first team defensive line unit consisted of Middleton, Kurott Garland, Matthew Butler, and LaTrell Bumphus.

Jeremy Pruitt is scheduled to speak following practice sometime around 6:00 PM Eastern.
