Four-star Tennessee football recruiting target Boo Carter visited Tennessee Wednesday ahead of his Saturday commitment announcement, the Chattanooga native shared on Twitter.

Carter is announcing his college commitment live from New York Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET. The four-star recruit is deciding between a top group of Colorado, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee. But in actuality the blue chip recruit is between the Vols and Wolverines.

A longtime Tennessee target, Carter ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 208 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 5-foot-10, 184 pound prospect also ranks as the 17th best athlete in the country and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee.

A Chattanooga native, Carter played his junior high school season at Chattanooga Christian School but plans on playing his senior season at Bradley Central High School. At Bradley Central, Carter will be teammates with Tennessee commit Marcus Goree Jr.

Carter has now taken five total visits to Tennessee including three this year, but the athlete has also taken four trips to Ann Arbor including an official visit earlier this month.

Recruiting services rank Carter as an athlete and the blue-chip recruit could play on either side of the ball in college. However, Tennessee like Carter on the defensive side of the ball, likely at safety.

Tennessee football’s 2023 recruiting class currently contains 11 commits including three defensive backs. Four-star Kaleb Beasley projects to play corner at Tennessee while four-star Marcus Goree Jr. and three-star Edrees Farooq project as safeties.

The Vols’ 11 commit recruiting class ranks 15th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
