Tennessee baseball is back in action at the SEC Tournament on Thursday afternoon when they’ll face Texas in the tournament quarterfinals.
The Vols advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating rival Alabama 15-10 on Wednesday afternoon. Texas won the SEC Regular-Season Championship earning a double-bye to quarterfinals in the process.
Here’s how to watch the quarterfinals matchups, a quick note on the pitching matchup and a short prediction.

Tennessee Will Have The Starting Pitching Advantage
While Tennessee has already played one game In Hoover, the Vols will have the starting pitching advantage for the quarterfinals matchup.
SEC Pitcher of the Year Liam Doyle will be on the mound looking to bounce back from a rough outing against Arkansas a week ago. Texas is starting Ethan Walker who has pitched just 6.2 innings this season in seven total innings, signaling a bullpen game for the Longhorns.
We’ll see how long Tennessee lets Doyle go on short rest and ahead of the NCAA Tournament. But the Vols should have the starting pitching advantage against the Longhorns.
Quick Prediction
Texas is the better team overall but they’re far from invincible. The Vols offense seems to be turning a corner and they have Liam Doyle on the mound.
Give me the Vols to win and advance to the semifinals for the fourth time in the last five SEC Tournaments.
Tennessee 7, Texas 4
