Air Force transfer infielder Wyatt Hanoian is visiting Tennessee baseball on Monday, Volquest’s Mike Wilson first reported and a source confirmed to RTI.

Hanoian is coming off a standout freshman season at Air Force where he slashed .357/.498/.573 with six home runs, 14 doubles and four triples. He also drove in 49 runs. The rising sophomore will be eligible for the 2027 MLB Draft.

A 5-foot-9 California native, Hanoian spent most his time at second base for the Falcons last season but also started games as the designated hitter and right fielder. Hanoian has a strong command of the strike zone, walking 32 times and striking out just 21 times. He was hit by 24 pitches last season.

Tennessee baseball could have to replace both its starting middle infielders from its 2026 team with both Blake Grimmer and Manny Marin eligible for the 2026 MLB Draft.

Hanoian will be the fourth player to visit Tennessee baseball out of the transfer portal joining Samford outfielder Jake Souders, Northwestern State left-handed pitcher Brody Trosclair and Mercer two-way Braydon Kersey.

Eleven Tennessee players have entered the transfer portal this offseason, including utility man Jay Abernathy, catcher Cash Williams, infielder Finley Bates, shortstop Ariel Antigua, infielder Ethan Moore, first baseman Evan Hankins, utility man Hunter High, utility man Chris Newstrom, outfielder Hutson Chance and right-handed pitcher Brayden Krenzel and right-handed pitcher Ari Bethea.

A number of key Vols have shared their intentions to return for next season including catcher Trent Grindlinger, right-handed pitcher Landon Mack and left-handed pitcher Cam Appenzeller.

After failing to make it out of the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019, Elander and his coaching staff enter a critical offseason. Tennessee will lose a number of players to the portal and will be aggressive adding more talent to its roster.
